Temperature Imaging Tools Distributed to 10 RGC Group Plants

New thermal scanners were distributed to 10 RGC Group of Companies plants nationwide as an upgrade to the mechanical equipment and electrical facility maintenance of the company. Aside from providing real time results and immediate recognition of problematic heat patterns, this powerful imaging tool also provides accurate temperature measurements that can be used in mechanical and electrical safety and monitoring measures. Made by FLIR, the global leader in designing and manufacturing thermal imaging infrared cameras, the newly purchased FLIR E5 and FLIR E6 are some of the best performing thermal imagers intended for the mechanical, building, and industrial use. The manufacturing plants from the RGC Group are heavy-users of electrical networks and mechanical equipment, therefore the need of thermal scanner is a necessity for immediate, real-time, and convenient identification of temperature trouble. This tool will aid in preventing possible causes of fire including faulty wirings, electrical problems, and machine malfunction. The thermal scanners were personally handed by Uratex Managing Director Ms. Peachy Cheng-Medina, to the person in charge of each plant. Among the 10 recipients of the additional thermal scanners are Uratex Marcos Highway (Marikina), Miller (Quezon City), Naga, Isabella, Plaridel (Bulacan), Valenzuela, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Alabang, and RGC Textile (Pasig). The RGC Group was using a FLIR E60, under the custody of the Office of the Executive Vice President -Electrical Projects team headed by Mr. Jomar Dalmacio, before the addition of the 10 thermal scanners this year. The RGC Group through the Corporate Engineering and Maintenance Department (Corp. EMD) vowed to continuously implement predictive and preventive maintenance and procedures to secure a safe and efficient workplace. The accountable personnel of each plant who received the thermal scanners and members of the Corp. EMD underwent product orientation and demonstration with Mr. Raymond Gaduyon, a professional Thermographer and Sales Manager of Litekon Buildtek Corporation. The recipients also went through comprehensive training on thermal analysis and reporting with FLIR Tools Software given by Mr. Edward Lamata of Corp. EMD.   This project was initiated and led by Corp. EMD Manager Engr. Rodel Domingo and Electrical Projects Manager Engr. Jomar Dalmacio. The Corp. EMD will be responsible for the execution and monitoring of thermal scanner usage in different RGC group plants. - RLF
